Vale of Glamorgan Council Recycling Services

Kerbside collections

Vale of Glamorgan Council now provide a weekly collection scheme for glass bottles & jars, paper and cans & tins. The council will provide a free calendar for your collection dates and a free recycling box, for further infomration please email them at visible@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk or call them on 029 2067 3000. There are 40 recycling bring bank sites in the Vale of Glamorgan collecting a range of materials including paper, glass, cans, shoes and textiles.

Civic Amenity sites

There are 2 civic amenity sites in the Vale of Glamorgan:
  • Hayes Road, Sully
  • Llandow Trading Estate, Llandow
Hayes Road is open from 8am – 6pm in summer and 10am – 4pm in winter.
Llandow site is open from 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am – 4pm on weekends in Summer. The site is open 10am – 4pm in winter.

Vale of Glamorgan Council Extend Their Domestic Recycling Service
The council now offer vale residents a weekly recycling collection instead of the old fortnightly arrangement. We collect paper, glass and cans one week, and clean plastic and cardboard on alternate weeks. For further information about the new service please call 029 20 673000 or email visible@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk.


Up to 85% of what we throw away can be recycled or composted so please make the most of your local council recycling services.

Need a free recycling box? You can collect them from the Counicil's Alps Depot in Wenvoe between 9am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am and 4pm on Friday.
Alternatively, you can have a box delivered usually within 4 weeks.

Please support the Vale of Glamorgan Council's domestic recycling initiatives, they have made significant improvements in the last two years, they now need your support, in simple terms this means segregating your waste at source and using the recyclate collection services the council is now providing.
